Ag Súgradh le Chéile workshop

The parents of all the children in Junior and Senior Infants are invited to a "Ag Súgradh le Chéile " workshop in the school on Monday November 19th at 10am. The aim of the Ag Súgradh le Chéile (ASLC) programme is to promote active play as part of a child’s healthy development. Playing games together promotes general well-being as well as developing relationships between parents or guardians and children.  Children will copy what they see. If parents or guardians lead an active life, children are likely to do so too.
The workshops are targeted at children from infants classes and are hosted by the school for a period of 60 minutes. They involve parents or guardians coming into the school and actively playing and interacting with their children. Parents are  encouraged  to play actively with their children and help children to reach their 60 minutes of physical activity a day.

(The National Guidelines on Physical Activity for Ireland state that all children and young people should be active at a moderate to vigorous level, for at least 60 minutes every day!.)
