Enrolment for the 2013-2014 School Year

We are now welcoming enrolments for the next school year. Enrolment packs are available from the Principal in the school (Phone 071-9636522) or from the Cloone Aughavas Playschool Leaders if your child is currently attending there. Only children who have reached the age of four before September 30th 2013 are eligible to enrol in the school. Completed enrolment forms should be returned by March 22nd and an induction day for Infants and Parents will be held before the summer holidays.



Publish-a-poem!
Pupils in 1st to 6th class in Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon schools have been invited to submit poems for the "Publish-a-Poem" competition run by the Carrick-on-Shannon Education Centre. We are delighted that today the entry from our school was submitted and contained over 40 poems written by the pupils here in school. Well done to all .The poems will be judged over the coming weeks and winning poems will be published in a poetry anthology, to be launched by Carrick-on-Shannon Education Centre in April.

WE ARE WRITERS

Work is continuing on our "We are Writers" project. Most of the stories have now been typed and work is continuing on other stories and poems for the book. We might even get a receipe or two in there as well. The work all has to go to the publishers by March 22nd so full steam ahead! We hope to put a link to some samples of our poems and stories up on this blog later in the year.

COMPETITIONS Competitions Competitions!!!
There are plenty of competitions running at present where our pupils get an opportunity to show off their talents and gifts! Recently we submitted enteries to the Mohill Area Community games and were delighted to see Kayla McCormack(2nd class) and Brian Donohoe (3rd Class) listed among the prize winners. WELL DONE KAYLA AND BRIAN. Entries for the INTO handwriting competition went in this week too so fingers crossed
