Cloone Homecoming Annual Festival

Cloone Homecoming Annual Festival continues this year on the August Bank Holiday weekend. We are pleased every year to see so many returning visitors on this weekend. This year once again many activities have been put together to suit young and old alike. Our events for 2016 are:
Friday July 29th.
  • Introduction to Orienteering: The Orienteering adventure takes place on Bóthar Na Naomh for children of all ages and their parents and can be undertaken individually or in team groups. It will challenge participants to discover up to 20 secret markers along the path of Bóthar-Na-Naomh. Registration begins at 6pm and as this is a test of skill and map reading, teams and individuals can depart at any time once they have registered. 
Saturday July 30th .
  • 9:30am: Registration begins for Bóthar-na-Naomh Duathlon Challenge: The race begins at 10:30 with a 5KM trail run (U-16 only) and kayaking on Annaghmaconway lake. The main race will begin at 11:30.

  • 12noon Boxty brunch at Cloone Community Centre.
  • 12pm-2pm:Kayaking on Annaghmaconway lake. A repeat of last years fun on this lake along Bóthar-Na-Naomh, why not give a kayak a go, fully qualified instructors in attendance or why not come along to see the unique sight of the kayak's on the lake.
  • 2:00pm Leitrim Harriers & 3 Counties Trec Trail ride.
  • 9:00pm “Cloone’s got Talent” We will again showcase the best in local talent from the area with music, song, dance, recitation and novelty acts together with some guest appearances.
Sunday July 31st .
  •  11:30am Mass and annual Blessing of the Graves with tea/coffee after in Cloone Community centre hosted by Cloone Youth club.
  • 3pm: Vintage tractor run and classic car treasure hunt.
  • 9pm Sunday Cloone Community Centre Arrive ‘n’ Jive with the Looney Hoppers. Music dance and a bit of Craic guaranteed in aid of Defibrillators for the Cloone area.
Monday August 1st .
  • Cloone Agricultural Show.
We expect the Homecoming festival to provide an opportunity for friends from far and near to meet and exchange stories and to provide many happy memories of Cloone over August bank holiday weekend 2016.
